Safeguarding policy

How we keep students safe in our school workshops and college programmes, in person and online.

Last updated: 18 October 2026

1. Our commitment

The safety and wellbeing of every student comes first. This policy applies to everyone who delivers programmes for Bright Pines Foundation. It applies most strictly to school students, who are under 18, and its principles apply to college students too.

2. In every session

  • School staff are present in every school session, in person or online.
  • We do not collect personal information from students during school workshops.
  • Every AI tool we show is checked for age suitability first.
  • There is no private contact between our trainers and students: no personal phone numbers, messages or social media.
  • We follow the host institution's own child-protection and conduct rules.

3. Online sessions

Online sessions are arranged with the institution, with a staff member present. We do not record students without the institution's written permission.

4. Photos and videos

We do not take or publish photos or videos in which students can be identified without the institution's written permission.

5. Teaching safe use of AI

Safety is part of what we teach: protecting personal data, recognising scams and deepfakes, and using AI honestly.

6. Raising a concern

If anyone has a concern about a student's safety or about the conduct of anyone working for us, tell the institution's designated safeguarding person and contact us straight away at info@brightpinesindia.org or +91 88001 02567.

We take every concern seriously and act on it at once. Where the law requires, including under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, concerns are reported to the police or the appropriate authority.
